Subject: Bill Passed Away Today


It is with such great and abiding sadness that I am telling you that Bill passed away peacefully today at Baptist Hospital at 10:10 am, surrounded by his 3 children -- Gary, Jennifer, Randy -- and me.

He had irreversable brain damage from cardiac arrest suffered Monday afternoon, and it was his living will that he not be kept alive artificially in a situation like that.

It is terribly painful for those of us left behind, who will miss him so dearly, but Bill is now in a much better place.

Services will be at Memphis Funeral Home, Poplar Avenue. Visitation on Sunday, April 27, 3-6 pm. Service Monday, April 28, 1 pm. Burial at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery at a later date next week.

We ask that any memorials be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org in Bill's name.


Thank you for all your prayers and support throughout Bill's illness. We both truly appreciated it!

Sad to hear this news, Bill was known for his honest and accurate reporting about the King. And he and his wife were responsible for over 20 years of their Elvis World publications.

That is terrible news. I was in touch several times with Bill in relation to articles that were written on LadyLuck Music and articles he was writing also..and we shared information back and forth about certain interviews, most notably the Loanne Parker and James Burton interviews that both he and LLM conducted. He was a fine person and a very interesting person to communicate with. I am really very sad to hear this news.

Bill was a reporter in Memphis who almost made a career out of covering Elvis and later producing many books and magazines about Elvis and for the fans. He had a gathering in Memphis each year for the fans and was much respected.

My condolences also to his family and friends. This is very sad.

(Just to add to this, Bill and his wife, Connie, lost their adult son recently in an accident..so this has been a tragic year for the family)
