Rock and Roll auction offers unique Elvis Items.

Fans with a large filled piggy bank can spend their money in an online auction, starting today – ending August 6.

About 16 unique personal and Elvis related items are up for sale. The eye catcher is the Peacock jumpsuit with a start price of $250,000, est. sale price $325,000.

Other clothing from the movies ‘Clambake’, ‘Kissin’ Cousins’ and ‘Blue Hawaii’ is also available. A ring that Elvis wore on stage has to cost $9,500 , while the catalogue also offers ‘cheaper’ items as acetates and autographs.

We do have questions when it comes to the Grammy award for ‘He Touched Me’. The three Grammy’s that Elvis received are all on display in Graceland. It is not clear from who, where and when the Grammy in this auction is offered.

OMG it would be so cool to own the REAL peacock jumpsuit that Elvis wore. GIMME!!!

I just cant believe they are selling the peacock suit! It has to be my all time favorite. That means, unless I win the lottery and can buy it, I might never get to see it

I saw this peacock suit close-up at a pre-auction viewing at Bonham's of Knightsbridge in the late 90's. We have spoken on here before about that Paul Lichter auction and how some items turned out to be very questionable or indeed fake; such as the shoddy tin-foil gold suit (the real one is on display in a glass chamber in Graceland), the "genuine" 68 If I Can Dream Suit (again on display elsewhere), the soft cuddly RCA Nipper dog Elvis cavorted with onstage in '57 (the real one was hard plastic material).
I'm not questioning the Peacock suits authenticity at this stage as I was convinced it was in fact genuine.
However, the suit (and 1 other jumpsuit) DID NOT sell at that auction and it subsequently wound up at the now defunct ELVIS-ARAMA in Vegas (where I saw this suit in 2003, again without the matching belt).
I have never seen this suit with the belt, but remember Elvis had 2 belts for this suit, one had a very unusual elongated front buckle- much longer than the ones he ususally wore-so who knows what happened to these 2 Peacock belts?
I would be very interested to know if Paul Lichter again has a hand in this auction, particularly in light of the comments above regarding questionable items......
