| Not a traditional Elvis show by any means.... I'm sure this show won't be everyone's cup of tea! If I go back to Vegas again and it's playing, I think I'd probably would go to see it; although I much prefer a proper Tribute Artist show. The last time I went to see a non-traditional Elvis show I came away quite underwhelmed- it was an Elvis ballet at Sadler's Wells. There was a lot of controversy about it at the time as EPE were trying their best to shut it down; they eventually succeeded. Also this from the internet: "Guy Laliberté announced that the show's opening was now postponed to Feb. 19, the third change. Originally, it was supposed to debut on Elvis's 75th birthday, Jan. 8, 2010. Then, citing construction delays in the new theatre at the just-opened Aria Hotel and Casino, the date was pushed to Jan. 29. Now more time is being carved out."The show is not complete. It is not what we want," Cirque's senior vice-president, Gilles St. Croix, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. And Laliberté, after announcing the new date, vanished, refusing to talk to the media. The show's executive producer, Stéphane Mongeau, verified reports that Elvis tribute performer Leo Days had departed from the production". | |
