you tube disrespectful coments!

hi all,

there seems to be alot of uncalled for nasty coments on you tube eta videos, people saying such and such is crap and so and so is better and alot of small minded jelous biggets slagging eta,s off, it is totally out of order, there favourite acts as they call them have been doing it for over 10 years, and there comparing them to eta's that have been in the business for maybe a year, yes i belive in constructive critisim but these people are being very childish and not taking into acount how much practice it takes to become a top eta. every eta does there show in there own rightful way. but you got to respect them for getting up on stage and showing tribute to the king. there only slagging them off cause they wish it was them on stage, theres alot of jelous people in this world.

anyway dont let them pilicks get to you.

p.s paul have you thought about putting a video section up on this site for true respectful elvis fans to watch and give constructive critisism and praise.

There`s the youtube section Andy. I would suggest putting them on there. If you embed them then you don`t need to go to youtube you can watch them right here.
I have seen the comments you are referring too and some of them are unduly harsh.
Now I don`t profess to know any of the histories but there are a few that get comments that are downright libellous. Personally I just watch the vids and don`t read the comments anymore.

I couldn't agree more about all the nasty, uncalled for comments both on YouTube and on some forums and Elvis/ETA boards. For some reason, this type of vehicle tends to bring out the worst in some people who sit at their computers, in many cases anonymously, and spew out their venom. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is getting completely sick of all this nonsense.

In reply to "spirit of Elvis" above..it doesn't matter if you are just starting out or if you are an established ETA, you seem to be fair game for those who just like to tear down anyone and everyone.

There seems to be a certain mean streak in people that has become acceptable on YouTube and on some internet forums.

NONE of this nonsense is about Elvis...much of it is about egos, putting people down, and the need to be "heard" by spewing out negative comments and feeling important in some way by doing so.

So, thanks, Spirit of Elvis, for voicing what many others are also thinking.

Hi everyone i kinda like the idea of putting a youtibe ETA section up dedicated to eta's that could be cool what do you guys think ?

What i would suggest to anyone putting footoage up on youtube is to have comments moderated ie you the owner havethe right to allow or dissalow comments on your preformance....

I have to agree with carol on the above its definatly a cruel world and ego's do get in the way.

I'd like to add one more thing: Even though some ETA's can be very mean-spirited, often it's the zealous FANS of ETA's who tend to fuel the fires also. Many of the ETA's are friends with each other, but their fans tend to want to pit one against the other, especially on YouTube. Carol

Negative comments on Youtube are just not directed at ETAs or Elvis but every clip that Youtube shows from any sort of subject.

Sadly, there are alot of people who just like putting people down and making fun of them , normally hiding behind other identities.
My advice is what Paul says.Put your clips up on Youtube but just disable the comments section.

People always put others down, eighter out of fear, or to make themself look better (well they try too).
If someone ever would ut a bad comment of Johnny on You Tube, i would have araised it right away, course i know he would be very very hurt by that...

You can actaully have comments on but needs you the authors autherisation so if you don't like what someone has put you just delete without it ever been air publicly

Well said Andy, I also feel strongly about this. It isn't fair when you have a new eta starting have their vids slaughted but people that just seem to want to inslut them & belittle them. The authors who put the vids on have duty to keep this from happening I think.

It's not just ETA's starting out. There are ETA's who have worked very, very hard for years, who are also belittled and insulted. I agree that the authors who put the videos on might want to monitor them for disrespectful comments.

i personally think everyone is entitled to their opinion , but you do find that the comments can be very nasty indeed , and sometimes when they can not critisise a particular ETA for their voice they turn it more personal , we are all in the same buisness and find it disgusting that other performers may want to insult another in this way , although i do feel as already said it is more often so called fans that stir up trouble

My Opinion is this
If anyone i mean anyone not just ETA's wants to put there vids up on a public webspace then they should be able to take the compliments or backlashes that comes with it . This is the worldwide web with users all over the world meaning there are some very nice people out there and some very nasty so if nobody can handle negative comments then i would suggest dont set yourself up for the fall because nobody is this world is going to get 100% praise its just not possible.

I think it depends on HOW they write it...
Ofcourse everyone is intitled to have there own opinion, but you can say it a right way, or a wrong way.
I dont think it is nessesearly to use bad words.

Thats right EssieI agree with you but this is a damn cruel world we live in which means there are plenty of cruel people out there that just likes to take people down, why let sad people like this get to us they are not worth it but what i am saying if they get to you then they have won and if they cannot arrise above there rubbish comments then dont put yourself up in the 1st place nobody is going to change the small minds of these twisted people

I just poot Johnny out there, course i a so very proud of him, and i want to share that with others.
He never got a bad comment before, but sins it is not his choice, but mine to poot the vids up, i will delete nasty comments, if they ever will be there.
Course i dont he (or anyone to get nasty words trowing at them) deserves it.

Getting back to the origional question, although I think Johnny is very good also, when it comes to posting on any site you have to accept any comment you get - that is the nature of this kind of marketing.

I will be posting some clips on youtube over the next few days, and to be honest, I will read all of the comments (if any) and take them with a pinch of salt.

However, my aim will be to look at a point someone has made and if I think "that is valid" I`ll then look at sorting the issue out.

In other words - I don`t give a damn!!!
