Design released for New Overton Park Shell

Design released for New Overton Park Shell: This may very well be the way the ‘New Overton Park Shell’ will look like, when it’s finished in 2009. The architectural firm working on the renovated design made this image and shared it with other fans through Scotty Moore’s website.

It was here – at the Shell – where Elvis gave his very first live performance, on July 30th 1954. The renovation costs about 1 million dollar & includes – among others – huge video walls. (News, Source: Elvis Matters)

It was the first place i wanted to go, where Elvis was billed as Ellis Presley support for Slim Whitman, the first ever gig Elvis did, just to stand there and go back in time and feel how it was and be on the same stage as Elvis, still have a piece of the rotton floor board.

Its a shame we never got to see it in all its glory
Will be nice to go see a concert there though when its built. I think Elvis would have liked the idea of them doing it up and using it again
