| Just a few interesting facts about TTWII special addition: The DVD was scheduled for January 2001, but was postponed because of copyright problems. Are You Lonesome, which was used during the closing credits, had to be removed. There was a major mistake in the cover-art discovered and Turner decided to withdraw it to replace the cover. The DVD was released in the U.S.A April 2001 and August 2001 in the U.K. Another mistake was left uncorrected. A couple of the small pictures used on the package aren’t from “That’s The Way It Is” but for instance from "On Tour". The DVD featured a short behind the scenes documentary entitled Patch It Up:The Restoration of Elvis Thats The Way It Is. The original 1970 theatrical trailer was also included on the DVD. Elvis fans were angered by the deletion of the promised bonus material listed below:- Don't Baby Let's Play House, Cattle Call, Eating Burgers, Farther Along, Hey Jude, I Just Can't Help Believin', I've Lost You, Little Sister/Get Back (Alternate), Mystery Train/Tiger Man (Alternate), Oh, Happy Day, Party Sequence, Poem/Walk a Mile in My Shoes, Something, Stranger in the Crowd, Sweet Caroline, Yesterday, You Don't Have To Say You Love Me (Alternate) | |

| Hey Lorna I went to see this in Leicester Square when it came out in about 2003 I think it was. I am positive this version was different to whatever has come out on DVD since. I clearly remember a different camera angle when E. walks out onstage and you could see the backdrop Ronnie Tut was all lit up with a "halo" effect. It was a really wide-andle shot, too. There was also a very short psuedo-2001 fanfare instead of the usual drumroll which we are used too. Whatever happened to this footage?! | |

| Lorna,
Where did you get that info from??
I was in Memphis in January 2001 and saw 2 of the 3 Special screenings at a local cinema and Rick Schmidlin who produced the SE gave a talk about how it was put together. Think this was the only time it was shown in the cinema in the US.
Reason why i asked where that info is from is that im certain it was released in the US in January 2001.
The day before its release, for some stupid reason they decided to put it out on the TV all across the US with the 4 added songs(Sweet Caroline,Ive Lost You,I Just Cant Help Believin' and Bridge Over Troubled Water) remastered and with different camera angles.
These 4 songs were, for some reason, left out of the SE DVD so most people in the US recorded the SE with the 4 added songs from the TV and this totally killed the sales of the DVD the next day. I remember getting a pre-order copy of the DVD at the Graceland shop cause the official release date was a few days after i was flying back to the UK and we got some American fan who gratefully taped the showing of the SE with the 4 added songs from the TV and sent us a copy a week after we got back to the UK. This is the reason why im certain it was released in January 2001.
Jasper, I saw it a few times in London on the big screen and , to my knowledge, it was the same as the SE DVD.

| Well i did like it when they cut the loony tunes out of it with the likes of Cricket Coulter and Sue with the cats and the very poor impersonations of Elvis | |

Rick Schmidlin was there as well to introduce it. Yeah, your right Paul. That was the first time it was shown to any kind of an audience. What was the audience' reaction like? Loved to have been there.

| It was afantastic performance as no one had any idea what they were going to see and just went wild with every time we saw something new and different, it was I would think a little similar to seeing it live on stage. | |

Here is where I got it from: http://www.geocities.com/elvismdb/thatsthewayitis.html Cheers Lorna. I know that site. I will be sending them an email telling them that it was released on January 19th 2001 in the US. I had one of the first copies cause at the Graceland shop they were selling a batch on January 8th 2001.
