Elvis tribute artist plans two area shows

Stephen Kabakos will perform two shows in the area as Elvis Presley.

Kabakos has been crowned world champion Elvis tribute artist in Memphis, Tenn., and has performed all over the world. He brings a 10-piece ensemble of musicians and back-up vocalists to the show.

Kabakos grew up in Milton and was exposed to Elvis at a young age as his mother was a huge fan of Elvis. Before long Elvis became the idol of little Stephen. It didn't take long before he was singing Elvis favourites and mimicking Elvis' unique moves and dance steps.

He brings The Wonderful World of Christmas to Showplace Peterborough, Ontario CANADA on Dec. 19 and to the Academy Theatre in Lindsay, Ontario CANADA on Dec. 18. The show is a celebration of Elvis Presley's Christmas and spiritual music.

The show returns to the Academy after a very successful appearance last season. Renditions include "Blue Christmas," "Here comes Santa Claus," "On a Snowy Christmas Night," "The First Noel," and "O Come all Ye Faithful" and "If Every Day was Like Christmas."
