Another ETA has all his gear stolen

May I bring to your attention as to what has recently happened to John E Prescott

ON 31 DEC 2008 MY VAN WAS ROBBED AS I WAS LOADING TO SET OFF FOR A GIG. INCLUDED IN THE STOLEN ITEMS IS A PAIR OF WHITE BOOTS AND AN ALOHA SYLE BELT. I AM HOPING THAT OUR MEMBERS MAY BE ABLE TO HELP ME FIND THE PERSON RESPONSIBLE. I WOULD BE HAPPY TO OFFER A REWARD OF £100 FOR ANY INFORMATION WHICH MAY LEAD TO THE RECOVERY OF THESE ITEMS OR THE IDENTITY OF THE THIEF.
This could happen to any one of us, and who are these scumbags going to try to sell it to other than us?

elvis@which.net is still my business email address. Thank you for your concern. The items I had stolen were, i pair of white boots, i Aloha belt, all my mini discs, 1 beyerdynamic opus 50 radio mike (in case but without receiver), and my file with all my contracts plus my date diary and bank cards etc! It's a worry that they now know when I should be away from home, leaving my wife alone.Even more important is my daughters first lock of hair and some personal stuff which can never be replaced.I'm in a real mess as the I have no way of knowing where I should be performing through the year, also they could be making crank calls to my clients - cancelling gigs etc.
Any help would be most gratefully received. I've had to freeze my bank accounts until I can get to my branch.
The £100 reward stands.

Last time something similar happened to me they took the leather 68 suit I wore on Stars In their eyes ,It lead to a national press story and the suit was returned.

arh no not agen, what is the world coming to! genuinelly sorry to hear about it, specially with it being things that you cant put a value on and things money cant buy. none of its any use to the idiot whose stolen it, mindless heartless thugs they are. ebay is the best bet of things turning up like that cause not just somthing they can sell to anyone, if it did turn up on there then at least they could be traced to the person and then find the invaluable stuff.

This is really terrible , i know how the guy feels as everyone knows , let's hope that some of the personal items are found , these things are hard come by and we all work dam hard through the year to get them , it sickens me it really does , if there is anything i can do to help John please pm me and let me know Paul , even if it's just someone to chat to , i really don't know what more to say , i'm livid i really am

it just makes me sick that what we try to do is bring enjoyment to people with an Elvis Tribute show and you get this in return, they should do what they do in some countries and proven that they stole the items cut their hands off, i know it sounds harsh but all these thieves and other criminals get away with everything the government don't seem to care as long as it's off there doorstep. Just reading in todays paper that they threw an hawaiian party for inmates at a young offenders institute in kent where the young offenders were the hardest bunch in there, so it goes to show the Elvis song Jailhouse Rock is well suited to this country. Sorry to go on but it just p****s me off when something like this happens, john if we can help out in any way let us all know.

Really sorry to hear that, can you tell us which area it was stolen from, this might make it easier when letting people know about it and checking ebay. Just a suggestion but it might be worth putting on his website and ask the people who have booked him to contact him. These people dont realise what they have done, it is not just materials things, it is personal things and your lively hood they take away.

This is just sickening! I cant believe this has happened once again. Its getting ridicules. I can think of at least 3 ETAs who have had gear of some sort stolen over the past 6 months. What is the world coming to?

Great idea Val, if we know the area it was stolen then we are a step closer to knowing if its Johns gear if someone tries to flog it. Im sure Paul will but an announcement out in a form of News Letter that goes out to our 300+ members to be aware of anyone selling the aloha belt and white boots - size of boots would also help. If we all keep our ears low to the ground then maybe we might find something out for John.
If there is any other way in which we can help then we gladly will. We also know how it feels as Paul had his car broken into whilst he was doing a charity gig a few years back, they stole his sat nav, cd player, giggin equip etc. Its just a sick world and John must be feeling pretty low at the moment but if there is anything we can do to help we sincerely will.

So sod their Human Rights if they commit a crime then their Human Rights do not apply and its Time the governments across the world passed laws to do this so the Human Rights lobby can be put down on this matter. It is sad to hear all this bad news,equipment can be replaced in time,but like john said the feeling someone studies all your movements is frightening,no such thing as peace of mind anymore,
