Things on my mind...

I do not want to sound like a B*tcher here, but have already confided in Paul about what I am about to share with forum members and I feel from what I have confided with Paul about and his reply to me, that he understands completely where
I am at .

I have been here now for over a year now. The first year I would post up messages galore, and quite a few of the members
would view the messages and quite a few would also add their own bit of tidbit related to the message. It is only since about this past May that quite good majority of the members have actually backed away from really adding to any of the posts that
I post up on the site here, and I have to wonder why? Is it because of some members that I had problems with, or members that I had problems with that had left, and people have lost interest in me and/or what I have to contribute to the forum?

Another thing, I find this sad, ignorant and very hurtful to say the least. A couple of days ago, I recommended a very good and dear friend of mine that is an ETA to this forum/ whom is also from the UK (England). I posted a welcome message in Off Topic for my friend, of which generally the general membership does when a new member joins. Only to notice that there were 30 member views of the Welcome Message and only 2 people to welcome my friend to the forum (why is this)? Are people that I invite to the forum not welcome? Why is it when other people post up welcome messages for new members, there are tons of replies ?

Oh there is lots more I can add, and more than likely I will get back replies from members that will tell me if I do not like things the way they are then I can leave, and some members that will post replies to this message of mine of support and/or even send me PM's...

Charmaine, whilst I do understand why you are upset about some of your posts going unanswered its not just you it happens to and its not just this forum, it happens on every forum. I yesterday spend the best part of 2 hours researching about the cape and belt thing from aloha from Hawaii. People have read it and not replied but I dont take it to heart. Basically all I care about is that they have read it and that some may also have enjoyed it but to be honest there is not really alot they can say. A forum is about reading posts, then if people have anything to say - replying to them.
You used to put a lot of your own opinions in posts where as now they are mainly news or articles, which again are really there for reading - like a newspaper. Sometimes we have 50/60 of our members on line in one day but I dont think even half post, but that is their right, as long as they are enjoying the forum and what we other members post then I for one, am happy.
You do put a lot into the forum and especially the blog, you are a firm part of the family here but I wouldnt get disheartened that people dont reply to your every topic, its not a personal thing at all, you know you have a lot of friends here.
As for the post about your friend, I think most were waiting for him to introduce himself first so we could say hi to him. Like you on welcoming some of the others, sometimes it is over looked etc.
Sometimes you take things to heart too much and its sad as you shouldnt be upsetting yourself as this forum is one to come on to and read at your leisure, we arent interested in making people post because they feel obligated to. First and foremost, and for what it was originally intended, it is an information board about ETAs and Elvis. Thankfully it has now also built into a place where friends can have a banter and get to know each other, which as Ive said before if you put in your own opinions, people will get to know the real you too and be more lightly to post and have a convocation with you rather than a 'well done on posting that article'.
I hope you can see where Im comin from huni, just dont like the thought of you being upset (((Big Hugs))) xxx

Hi Guys and Girls, have been asked by Charmaine to remove this thread as she is going to get her friend to introduce himself in the 'introduce yourself' section and doesnt want him to see that she is upset in a forum that she has recommended to him.

I am just a little tired of her bulling people into replying to her posts, its going to put people off. I have not replied to her 'welcome my friend' post in the off topic for this reason, if however he introduces himself I will more than happy to welcome him in with open arms x

I wouldn't care so much but this is the bussiest forum out there at the moment lol , but like i said to her how do you think we feel all the hard work that goes into the browser etc and for what at times we get down but we don't make a public scene lol.

Well, it is a free forum, people can say, do, act and react the way they want (that is if it stays desent ofcourse) and i think it is a bunch of great people in here, it is not that it has going back sins may, not at all!!!
