| Hi Guys. Decided to have a wee bash at this and just wanted a bit of advice. With regard to backing tracks; Is it best to take different discs for the different days/heats? Is it better to sing different songs each time? Is it a good idea to buy the £110 ticket rather than just the entry fee? I've never actually done a contest or convention as such so I really have no idea and would value any input you may have. | |

| Hi Johnny, I work at the contest. With regards to backing tracks for the contest the best thing to do is bring a clearly labelled minidisc with only the songs you wish to sing on it. Should you reach the finals you will have a choice to either sing with the live band or use your own tracks. Last year there was a section of the hotel where you could practice or do mini-gigs if this happens again it would be a good idea to bring a seperate disc. I'm unsure as to how the gospel competition will run this year, keep checking the website for updates. Hope that helps. | |

| Following on from DJ STE, and the usual reminder to everyone entering the contest, check and listen to your backingtracks as we can only play it as it is. Sing the songs you sing the best it is a contest ( simple's ) if you only sing 2 songs brilliantly keep singing those songs, the same songs are heard many times anyway. if you only pay an entry fee you are not allowed to stay in the main showroom, only for the time of your heat, if you are there for the First time and for all weekend then you may as well buy the weekend pass and see and be part of the whole event, you wont regret it. See you there and Good Luck !! | |
