As you might know, Jerry Scheff will not be a part of the TCB band for the Elvis The Concert tours this time.
He has made the following intriguing public statement:
"Please don't worry about me for one moment. I am just NOT playing the Stig Egren show. It's so very good to hear from all of you, Elvis' true family. You know who you are...and so do I." Jerry goes on to say; "My wish is that Elvis might finally be allowed to leave the building with the dignity he deserves, and I wouldn't mind a little dignity myself."
What do you think he means by "....my wish is that Elvis might finally be allowed to leave the building with the dignity he deserves"?????
He seems to be saying that this production should now come to an end. It's hard to imagine that statement meaning anything else.
The Elvis The Concert shows I have seen since 1999, Jerry had always appeared to be really enjoying himself- right up to the later shows and his playing had seemed to actually improved since 1977 (as had James Burtons).
But now he seems to have had a dramatic change of heart. I wonder what has changed his mind?
Has he fallen out with the promoters?
Has he just got tired of it?
Any ideas, guys?
