thanks Michelle , yeah i am very lucky , but i have worked real hard to get a good set of regular bookings , apart from the odd one i have got all my bookings myself without using any agents etc.. not all the best payed gigs but at least i'm busy , would rather keep busy and out there with lower payed gigs than having one well payed gig every 4 or 6 weeks

Are you sure you and my Chris were not seperated at birth!!! lol, he is a twin, maybe he is really a triplet.

Chris very rarely works through agents, he has done a few times and ironic thing is worst gig ever had was through and agent. and chris told him dont want anymore like that thanks not for no amount of money!!

Chris gets 99.99% of his gigs himself as well Ed, we don't have much know how on PR advertising etc etc but for Chris its a lot of word of mouth, which I think is the best thing.

Like you he also values his regular venues, he likes to aim for those Chris also like you would rather be singing every week, he is aware its a tough time for everyone at the moment and will help out in anyway he can with regards to fees and all if he knows someone is genuinely struggling, and do what he can to try and get people into the venue, he believes you reap what you sow:)

Having said this he dont do too bad from it financially, wished I could go out and earn some extra money lol... Mind you time the ole tax man gets his mitts on it and all the expenses grrrr - He has had one weekend of so far this year, and has had 2 bank holiday weekends where he has done 4 shows in 4 days and a good few where hes done weekday evening stufs as well and also works on his rota days.

So now where where you borne again?? Sure it wasn't Hastings hehe!!

Does your lovely lady go with you to your shows and is she like me and gets lumbered lugging stuff and tidying up yer cables la la la lol

sorry i was born in Camarthen in Wales i am always very flexible with my fee , there have been venues where i have gone and given a price and they have said no way , so i have asked how much they can afford , i have found once i get into a venue i usually get rebooked and and for more money , there obviously is always a limit on how low i would charge and that depends on distance as i have to take over heads into account , but if it's the difference between having or not having the gig i will usually take the gig . I think in the past i have probably cut my nose off to spite my face a little and have been told many times i should charge more than i do but i love what i do so much and would hate to be ruled by money , even though i need it

As regard Becky , she comes with me as much as she can , it's difficult sometimes due to her living in Fleetwood and me on the Welsh borders , and also the fact she has our little daughter Kizzie and her other 2 children Declan and Kaitlyn and it's like a military operation organising baby sitters but i have to say when Beck comes with me she is amazing , she always helps setting up and taking the gear down and it cuts yoru time down by half , and usually at the end of the night she is taking the gear down herself as people always want to chat with you and us men seem to get side tracked but i really could'nt wish for a better help when she comes with me , she has even dabbled in the sound on a couple of occasions , i could'nt do it without her , and i really miss her when she aint there

Ok I have to ask Chris now if he was really born in carmarthern, I swear to good eddie, your ethics and views and stuff on this are exactly the same as Chris, totally!!!

Glad Becky can get to go with you sometimes and help ya. Chris always says to me it was a pretty lonely time for him Elvis wise before I came into his life. I guess it can be lonely existance going around doing it all alone even though your with the people you perform for. I do all the cable tidying up, and putting stuff away as well, setting up setting down, da videoing, the marmite on toast adn tea when we get home hehe oh yer not to forget if the dogs had an accident i get to sort that as well lol.. but its worth it Chris says it makes a big difference, especially when hes knackered which is most of the time I do really enjoy it though, he makes me feel very proud,.

I do hope you end up going to Birmignham in Jan would love to meet you both.

yeah i have said to Becky many times how lonely it is when your driving around the country on your own and it is great being able to share it with somebody , i always seem to have people with me for local gigs but i am on my own for the long distance ones where to be honest is where you need the company , Beck comes to what she can , and she dont like me travelling long distances on my own , and although sometimes i don't feel like it i am used to it and it does'nt fase me , and it does beat going down the pit and digging for coal , thank you for the luck , would be truely uncanny if after waiting all these years to go to memphis i ended up goin twice in one year but i am just happy to be there , there are some good lads in there and i am happy to be mixing with them again

yes some nice guys in the comp, have met 1 or 2 of them at Blackpool last year. I am sure it will be a great night. Wished we could go just dont have the time & Chris is doing a Charity Event on 18th for Kent Air Ambulance - I will try and get a lil soemthing together and post it on the boards - its a good cause and they have some good acts, apart from Chris of course I am looking forward to Abba!!! hehe

hey maybe we girls could set up a double Abba group.. Got 2 blondes in val and lorna and becky is dark haired and I can be Bjorn lol!!

will have to sort out a visit to your neck of the woods and stay over at b&b and bring becky ..then take her home later after my brekky n dinner maybe tea ..i,m sure there is maccy,s for brekky ... carvery for lunch .then chippy tea ... that should just about fill deb i think
