Obviously there are advantages and disadvantages... Playing to small crowds ain't nothin new to me so I don't mind singing to the half dozen who will be there at that time on a Thursday... :-) It'll be fun - and as you say, I can have a wee shandy or two since even in the unlikely event of me getting past the first round, I won't have to sing for over 24 hours... :-)

| Red Alert are doing a showcase first to kick off the convention. This means that the crowd should be nicely warmed up and no ETA will be going on cold. I felt this was a really important change to make so as to improve things for the contestants... P.S....think there will be a little more than half a dozen there Johnny....lol Best wishes Michael | |

| Think I better set off early then so that I can get there from the start. How long does it take to get to Brimingham? Think it is a great idea that the band is on first. | |

| Yes Johnny there is quite afew there early and to be honest people are very excited that things are kicking off sooo its all good. And a well there i a few of you in the heat from the browser so least when backstage you got people you know and support can help calm each others nerves You will be fine.. Only thing that worries me for you early guys is the early start, me and chris are coming wednesday and having the extra night so we should be ok - gawd there was me wanting a lay in haha!!! but for those coming on the Thursday will you be able to get checked in and ready and all in time? Michael can you help us out on this one please? I think the checking in times for hotel are later in the afternoon, do you think hotel will make provisions for the guys on the 1pm heat to get into their rooms earlier in time for them to unload there gear and get ready etc>>>?? Though I got to say I dont mind the idea of 20 eta getting changed in my room if needs must I am such a sad old lady hehe xx |

I am looking forward to it very much Michael. When I opened the doc and saw my name at the top my first thought was 'Oh my goodness!' (Well, not in so many words... or syllables...:-))) It is a bit of an honour really, and I intend to treat it as such. I do hope there will be a few there for us early birds. Keeping my fingers crossed for the weather - if I start off around 8 I should be there for about half elevenish. Should be a lot of fun! :-)

Didn't see that... Still, I'm sure in the spirit of camaraderie and all that, some kind person will let me change in theirs... :-)

Thanks bud - but I have contacted hotel and sorted it. I wouldn't have known though if you hadn't mentioned it. Thank you very much!

This was something that was thought about some time back hence the 11o'clock get in. The hotel have been very helpful regarding the Thursday and assured us that every effort will be made so that all can check in on arrival. There is also a 'holding room' available to those who just want to 'ditch their bags till later' and hit the party!!!!!! For all contestants, whether they are staying at the hotel or not, there is ample changing areas with full length mirrors, hot water, drinking water and access to the stage. Of course both myself, Jay Ashton and DJ Ste will be on hand to advise at all times. Any probs or questions guys, feel free to give me a call. Best wishes Michael
