Elvis competition,Lincoln

Would jut like to say a big well done to my mate Mike Shelby for winning a local Elvis competition heat last night..Mike was up against 4 others, 1 being Elvis G & another being C C ryder, it was a brilliant night & at the end there was only to points differerence as C C Ryder came 2nd..the only thing to wreck the night was the sound guy in the DJ box absolute crap he was, he f****d up loads of times & he he even stopped Suspicious Minds when C C Ryder was doing his shoulder shaking stuff at the end of the song, & feedback galore on the mikes..anyway it was good to meet Elvis G & Karen Cockroft & her husband Gary for the 1st time..& nice 2 meet Carn again, & they did a superb job on there 4 numbers they had to do, so Mike is in the final on December 11th, there is another heat & there will be 6 Elvis's in the final to be held at the Jailhouse Rock bar in Lincoln, the prize is a week for 2 in Las Vegas, there is a raffle prize as well & the winner of that goes to Graceland..so some good prizes..

Well done Mike on his win and Carn on second place, really nice to meet you Mike and Tutt.
Great to see Karen and Gary again, good to see some friendly faces.

Have to agree with what Tutt has said about the so called sound guy, really felt for Carn when he stop his music

Thank you Mr Tutt & Mr Elvis G - it was a good night despite a complete lack of organisation and awful mistakes by the guy on the sound desk. Was hard to hear the backing tracks and not the sound I'd normally have. It really needs to be far better organised, and a clean changing room provided - there was dust and bird s**t everywhere upstairs!!

Anyway despite all that, it was great fun and my 1st ever Elvis Tribute comp. I really thought Carn and Elvis G were great tributes . . . better not say anything about the guy in the red jacket My ears are still bleeding!!!!

Great atmosphere in there despite it not being a very big venue and the people were great and supportive to all who entered.

Got a few months now to think of what to do and wear in the final in December

Well done Mike and to everyone who entered. That must have been arwful with the sound, people are nervous as it is without adding to it.

Thank you Val, John & Paul - I'll try my best in December as I quite fancy a week in Vegas and winning it is the only way I'm ever going to get there!!
There's also a 5 year contract with a local agent - I laughed at that . . . no agency around here has work for ETA's - let alone 5 years worth with a contract!!

Congratulations Elvis G for winning the final heat last night in the Elvis comp u were easily the best on the night..Elvis G will be alongside our very own Mike Shelby & C C Ryder & 3 others in the final on Sun Dec 11 2011..Carn won the last heat which was in Sept i believe..should be a cracker of a show with some well known faces on the judging panel that night we have been told..
