live band

Hi can any one tell me how performing eta's can sing with backing tracks and when they need call in a live band to back them? Do these bands just wait till they are called or what?

I'm a part of one of these occasional backing bands, and yes we do tend to sit and wait for the phone to ring. Although some of the band are professional musicians, a lot of us have day time jobs too, and play in numerous other bands. We originally started the band as we realised that most ETA's only require a band when there is sufficient budget and space to allow for it, so being freelance enabled us to offer the service to anyone requiring it.

Just thought I would say a quick 'hello' to the guys from the Big Boss Band - hope your all well and enjoying life! I had the pleasure of doing a few gigs with the guys (and girls) a couple of years ago and they are an incredibly accurate Elvis backing band.
Whoever 'patch it up' is please say hello to Peter, Martin, Steve, Patrick and Mark, the girls and the blowers!

I`ve checked your site and yes, it is a while since it was updated!!!

Tell me, what area do you cover and when did you last gig?

As the Elvis band, it was probably 18 months ago we last gigged. However, various parts of the band do play together most weeks, so its not as if we would have got too rusty.

We cover the whole of the UK - but are based in Norfolk, so obviously, certain parts of the country are easier for us to get to than others.

You may want to consider also Red Alert or The Beal St Band I know Big Boss band are fantastic but then so are the other two Red Alert backs many ETA's Gordon Hendricks as one who won Stars In Their Eyes Also they have backed Joe King and they were also the House Band for Blackpool this year and Porthcawl THE 3 MENTIONED HERE are the only 3 bands that i know off who you can hire for an Elvis show as i dont think there are anymore could be wrong
