Hi to you too Paul hope you are well . . . . . . and yep the show was a cracker!
A few critisisms tho -
The band 'Red Alert' was I thought a bit loud and couldn't hear Doug as much as I wanted too (That was not the bands fault but down to the sound crew) Red Alert are a great bunch of guys and very entertaining to watch.
The lighting was basic (in my own personal opinion) and they had 2 stupid floor cans blaring what must of been 1000 watts each of white light into the audiences eyes!
Didn't seem as though much thought had gone into the lighting -
When they used them everyone had to look away and miss what was happening on stage. Not very good planning by the lighting guys at all.
However -
Doug Church was excellent and the girl singers they had were fantastic on the harmonies - good strong voices and obviously knew what they were doing. I was impressed. I wasn't keen on what they wore and I think some nice classy dresses would of been better suited.
Poor old Darren H wasn't well at all - but still gave it his all doing a great 50's set and later coming out in the 'If I Can Dream' suit to sing as a duet with Doug.
Finally met Daz - which was nice!
Good to meet up with some from the forums (and Facebook) although it was brief and not much time to talk.
I thought The Alexandra Theatre was a superb venue with parking nearby. Shame it wasn't as full as it could've been but I think most people left having witnessed a great show.
