During the 1980s Artie Mentz was one of the very top ETAs in America. I think one of the main reasons which brought him to National Attention was when he was featured in the controversial 1984 documentary "Mondo Elvis" or "The Cult That Is Elvis" as it was called in Europe.
Then during the height of the IS ELVIS ALIVE mania, he was on the OPRAH show along with other American ETAs. He has since gone on to feature on Oprah again.
I would rank Artie alongside other legendary ETA pioneers such as Rick Saucedo, Liberty Mounten and Johnny Harra.
In the early 80s one of the most impressive things about Artie which made him unique at that time was he was one of the very few ETAs who had a replica SUNDIAL jumpsuit- this was before B+K and Artie's stunning Sundial costume was actually slightly better than Johnny Harra's one...
