Do you remember the Jonathan Ross Channel 4 documentary "VIVA ELVIS" from the early 90s?
It was a fantastic programme and covered a lot of aspects of the whole Elvis phenomena as well as Tribute Week, the Candlelight Vigil, Pscyhics as well as film of a very young Doug Church at Bad Bob's Vapors Elvis week Contest!!

Along with some quite well-known personalities such as Joni Mabe the curator of the travelling Elvis Museum and owner of the alleged Elvis wart and toenail, Clarence Giddens the black Elvis, Janice K the female Elvis and Paul McLeod who built Graceland Too, there was an interview with Danny Uwnawich, an ETA from California who had built a scaled-down replica of Graceland and called it "Melodyland":

Now it was a very impressive mansion but as it had only just been comlpleted when Jonathan Ross tuened up, it looked strangely empty without any furniture- but on the inside at least, it did'nt really look a lot like Graceland!

But I was sorry to hear that the mansion was severley damaged a few years ago in a major earthquake (see the damage to the gates from this earthquake in the photo above).
Danny claimed he knew elvis and even told him that he planned to build his own Graceland one day...

Ah that is a shame! It looks like it would have been beautiful once. Looks a bit like a wounded soldier doesn't it.
I would have loved to have seen the documentary in the early 90's. It sounds really good. Wouldn't it be good if they did somet like that now.

It is a shame everything is damaged. Doesnt Emerald Elvis from Ireland have the same gates as Graceland on his home.

Yes Emerald has the gates as well. He did say in the 2007 Vernon Kay competition how much they cost him- I can't remember offhand, but it was well up in the thousands...
