Need some help about a film

Hi Everyone

Does anyone remember a film, I am not sure when it was made but I remember watching it in the late eighties or early ninties. It was about a disabled young girl who was a big Elvis fan, she wrote to elvis and he wrote back to her, it had a very sad ending (it broke my heart). Does anybody know what this film was as I would love to see it again.

Its called Toached By Love

Yes 'Touched By Love' is the title of the film, made around 1980.

It states that its a true film so i decided to do some research on it.

I found out that , yes it is a true film to some extent but it wasnt Elvis that was writing the girl all the letters but it was her carer.

Thank you everyone, going to buy it from the internet. Your knowledge is fantastic as it has took me a long time to find out the name of the movie. The movie was also known as To Elvis, with love and I this is how I remembered it but did not know the full title only that it had the word Elvis in it.

This is a film to watch, and will make you cry, no matter how tuff you are, it was made in the 80s and is now deleted, i have the video which i have put onto dvd, i did lots of copies for other ETAs at the practice night and the proceeds went towards my grandsons headstone which was put up before christmas.
I also have the book To Elvis with Love by Lena Canada, she wrote it just before Elvis died. Lena now lives in California, devorced with two children.
As you know all the mail went to Elvis's sorting office where he had a team to answer all as much as they could, even Lena's with no reply. So she wrote to Hollywood where Elvis was filming,
Elvis did get the letters and did write back and put her on a special mailing list that her letters were given to him. The book goes into more detail as the film and tells you this with Elvis's replys.
but the film is a must and a collectors, and i must admit it had me in tears. The Brown House which is in Sweden where Karen lived.

Hi Charmaine,
yes this is the movie, i have seen a few on dvd, as the film was deleted and never released on dvd and is only on vhs, so if you see one on dvd it as been copied onto dvd.
but it is a must to have film as well as the book, and have the tissues on stand-by.
