I, Anders Karlstedt, recorded my new album In Elvis's Footsteps in Nashville, Tennessee, U.S.A. I worked with Dan Willis, who is an accomplished Nashville producer and songwriter, and Elvis’s background singers The Jordanaires, who played with Elvis from 1956 until 1969.
I recorded a "new" song "Sweet Sweet Spirit" that Elvis himself never recorded. It was one of Elvis's favorite gospel songs and one that he sang live with The Stamps from 1972 to 1977.
The Jordanaires had never sung "Sweet Sweet Spirit" until we recorded it together in Nashville. The song is one of my favorites. Now, I'm the first person who has recorded "Sweet Sweet Spirit" with The Jordanaires. To be first to release one of Elvis's favorite songs is truly special. I'm very happy about it!
In Elvis's Footsteps includes six newly written songs and six of Elvis's songs.
Also, Sherrill Nielsen sings "It's Now or Never" on the album. He sang with both Voice and The Imperials. After that, he was on stage with Elvis along with the Stamps and the Sweet Inspirations until 1977. Nielsen sings as guest lead vocal on "O Solo Mio/Its Now or Never" with me. Before the song, he talks about "It's Now Or Never," a song he sang with Elvis during Elvis's last years.

The Jordanaires played with Elvis Presley from 1956 until 1969. This is the first time they have sung and recorded Sweet Sweet Spirit.
