| Hi all, heres one for you, what do you rate as the best p.a equipment, speakers and mixing desk, and do you think the better the equipment the better the overall sound is and how much would you spend. We have heard most makes of speakers, peavey, mackie, wharfedale, ramsa, bose etc etc, but what we now have we beleive is the best. we use a logic rig comprising of 2 15'' powered subs and 2 18'' powered bins 1800 watts a side and an allen and heath mixing desk, overall cost over 5k Regards Joe P.S it sounds awesome. |

| I`m out of my depth here Joe, but I will say what I`ve been told. Your PA will only be as good as its weakest link - so no point in buying top of the range speakers and mixer and a crap mike. As an ETA it is difficult, because of the cost associated with buying jumpsuit and the rest, but I spent what I think is a decent amount on my gear - about £3,500 - I do want to improve on it, but I will add to what I have. I`ve got a yamaha mixer (124 I think is the model) with 12 channels/ inputs. It has a lot of settings for effects (reverbe, echo, etc) I have 2 500w RCF speaker amps - I think they are 17" speakers. Taking into account we only use backing tracks and either me or me and the girls singing, I feel its enough. The music is played through the PC into a mixer chanel. I use a seinhieser wireless mic (cost me about £350 new) All the gear I have I bought brand new. So there we go. Other than that, I`m knackered !!! | |

| Hi Mike, ray has used all types of mikes, but has found the sm 58 radio mike to be the most suited to him, he use to use the same one you use, but he found it to be all bottom end and no top, but each to their own. Regards Joe |
