Best Welsh Elvis 2010 Contest “Rules of Entry”


1.All entrants
must be of WELSH origin, Either 1st generation (Born in Wales), 2nd
generation (Either or both parents are Welsh) or must have resided
permanently in Wales for 12 months or more. If there is any doubt or
question by the competition organiser then proof will be required.

2.Entrants
must not have represented ANY other country in any other Elvis contest
or competition.

3.All entrants must be at least 18 years old at
the time of their heat and must be either semi professional or full time
Elvis tributes. If there is any doubt, references will be required from
at least 3 paying venues in the last 12 months.

4.Entrants must
be respectful of Elvis and his image before, during and after the
competition performance.

5.Backing tracks must be either on
Mini-Disc or 1st generation Compact Disc, Contestants are responsible
for the quality of their own recordings.

6.There is no charge for
entering the competition, The entrant must provide their own relevant
travel and accommodation costs. No fee's will be paid to entrants for
performing. Any person or persons accompanying the entrant will only be
permitted to enter the venue if they have paid the relevant ticket price
(Wives and Girlfriends are the only ones who may enter free of charge).

7.The
4 top scoring entrants from each heat will progress to the FINAL. (The
top 4 will be announced in no particular order). A 5th placed entrant
from each heat will be on stand-by should 1 of the 4 not be able to
compete.

8.By entering the heat each entrant must keep themselves
available on the 24th of July and must be at the venue for the final no
less than 1 hour before the Final is due to start (8pm) If for any
reason this is not possible the 5th placed heat finalist will be
required to perform.

9.Contestant's, Finalists and the eventual
winner waives any image rights regarding Pre and post publicity for the
event.

10.All entrants must use the P.A equipment provided, Under
no circumstances will any performer be permitted to use their own
equipment to gain an unfair advantage

11.The winning prize of a
“Trip to Memphis” consists of 6 days and 5 nights. The dates of travel
will be discussed between the organiser and the eventual winner once the
contest is finished. Some dates may not be available (Dependant on
revenue raised during the contest). There will be a 2nd and 3rd place
trophy for the 2 runners up.

12. Entrants must register by
emailing their names and desire to compete to deanmack@mail.com, If any further
information is required regarding entry, you will be informed by return
email. All emailed entries will be responded to. If you have had no
response for at least 3 days then resend the email.

13. A maximum
of 15 entries will be accepted for each heat, ETA's who have not
registered by email will not be permitted to enter on the day of the
heats.

14. Heat sets will be time dependant on the amount of
entries on the night. The final will be a set of 20 minutes (Including
talking and pauses between songs). Marking penalties will be imposed for
any ETA running over their allotted time.

15. In all heats of
the competition . The judges decision is FINAL

16. Judging
criteria will be made available for each contestant.

17.Contestants
can only enter 1 heat, Unsuccessful Entrants on the 5th of June will
not be eligible to enter the 2nd heat on the 24th of July

18.Final
entry dates will be 30th of May for the North Wales heat & the 18th
of July for the South Wales heat.

all of the rules set out above.
