Sadly, it's the reason the press were there, to write up a piece like this. I didn't meet Blake, but if he wants me, as an Elvis fan to educate him on the significance of Graceland, he can call me, better still come up and tell my to my face that I "scare you". Why in the hell ETA's are consistently made to look like idiots in the media? Are Abba, Beatles or Brat Pack tribute a bunch of delusional idiots with nothing better to do with there time? If Paul Cole of the Sunday Mercury is there next year and I'm not, do me a favour, slap him or at least make sure he only talks to someone with a brain!!!!!!!

He is a total disgrace that Dylan Blake. And he calls himself an English Teacher, he should be ashamed of himself. The claim for £4000 jumpsuit as well. Were the rhinestones cased in gold or somet? Im glad he has ginger sideburns. Ha! I cant even find him on google. If Paul Cole even attempts to come back next year I will snap his poisonous pen and ram it where the sun dont shine.
The actual footage was good and both Michael and our very own Chris Fields did a fantastic job. Well done guys xx

The reporter is obviously not an elvis fan and not very bright. I have been reading trash like about elvis this since i remember. Journalists find they most controversial comments to include without getting sued for libel, and love to misquote people.

I just wrote to the paper!:
I was disgusted when I read your distasteful write up regarding the Elvis European Championships. It was the usual tabloid garbage, making disparaging comments about the contestants, allowing your readers to perceive them as a bunch of sad individuals...apart from some English teacher! Why could you not have attended with an open mind? Do you think gauging the opinion of one person would sum up the feelings of everyone else? You are a disgrace to your profession.
I suggest that your editor sends a qualified journalist to do the write up next time, as you obviously lack the skills and competence to complete a fair and unbiased report. I know we all have off days, but affording your readership the intelligence to judge for themselves, is paramount.

When I saw the original link it didnt have any write up under it - i am what a twat!! never heard of him, dont even wanna takea look at him and give him the satisfaction of a click!!! not impressed with Paul Cole the writer either, you know people there were respectful and helpful to these reporters and this is how they repay that - they outta be ashamed of themselves..

Can't argue with the wonderful pic accompanying the article in the paper itself... (:-D) but the article was a joke.

I intend writing to the chap as his address is elsewhere in the paper and giving him my opinion. I will happily post both my letter and his reply (should I receive one) on the browser.
I don't know Mr Blake - I must have missed him, although I can understand a little bit of what he said.
When I first went to Blackpool, I was more than a little astonished to see guys who weren't ETA's dressed as Elvis. I was even more astonished to see women dressed as Elvis.
I was perturbed that ETA's were dressed as Elvis even when they weren't singing.
I mentioned this to a friend who was attending the event.
The reply I received was "This is an Elvis Presley Convention and Contest. At a Star Trek convention, you would expect everyone to be dressed as characters from Star Trek, wouldn't you...?"
I had to agree.
Knowing how journalists write, I suppose I would have to hear it from Dylan Blake's own lips before I would believe some of the stuff.

Mr Cole will be hearing from me in the very near future.

Click on the link at the side which rates the article. I clicked the 1 star and that was being generous. Think he was at the wrong show. The Shakin Stevens bit, think that was with Red Alert proves how much he knows.

Snap Michelle. Out of all the ETA's that were at the comp, they had to ask that guy. But unfortunetly it sells papers. Feel sorry for the reporter if he even attempts to come back next year, there will be a mob after him and I wanna be at the front with my pitchfork! lol!

Like Elvis would say 'If there is nothing they can write about, they will make it up.' Not sure how correctly this journalist quoted, this Dylan. But... where there is smoke, there is fyer.
The journalist writes, that he will be back next year.
It is to bad, that there aint a picture of him, in the newspaper.
Maybe he has a facebook?
I can garantie, that some ETA's will not be happy to see him.

It would have been a waste of a decent pint. After the pitchfork we could put his head on a stick at the corner of the stage.
