Scarf

Hi guys have been in touch with Michael about the scarf and he has it - it wasn't claimed.

So we can decide what to do with it - i told Michael we would likely do something like give it to someone deserving or try and raise some more from it.

michaels says its an amazing scraf and memnto of the first comp at hilton and mentioned it going in the contest hall of fame, now I don't know if that was just a tongue in cheek remark - but maybe thats not such a bad idea????

I really think it should go to someone deserving, but it would maybe be hard for us to find a particular person, even if we askd people to nominate people it would then be very hard to choose one erson over another, if we re auctioned it or something it may be seen as us just trying to make extra money.. or....

maybe Michael himself would be seen by everyone as a deserving recipient, something personal for him to have as a reminder of all the work and challenges he took on in taking the comp over and making the changes that so badly needed to be made.??? May be something nice for him to look back on in years to come, OK I know he knows most all of the ETAs and could get a siggie from them, but this is a special scarf - But whatever anyone thinks and whatever lil quibs people may or may not have about the comp, be it prices, tech difficulties whatever fact is what Michael took on was a mammoth task and he worked himself ragged trying to make it nice for people... and still is... and I think it would be nice if he was rewarded with the scarf, and we know it would be cherished..

Just a thought, open to what everyone else thinks.

ps. I did not go into details just when Michael had said its been a crazy month for him I said that i hoped things went well and that he has the support of a lot of people the browser included, and he replied saying thank you and how much that mean to him... I really feel for the guy, it must be so hard right now...

100% agree I am glad we solved that mystery. Would Michael be ok to put something on the contest website, just so it confirms to everyone what we have raised and they received it. As I am sure people are wondering and they know everything was genuine and above board.

We also need to agree what pictues to send to Men Matters for their website and what to write aswell.

Val I will scan the letetrs monday and send to Michael and ask if we can out them on the comp wall. Once Lornie, Essie and Ronnie say yes to the scarf situation if indded they do think its a good idea I will do a message or someting with the acknowledgments just letting people know it wasnt claimed and that we are giving it to ichael as to choose between anyone else would be something we couldnt do easy. I think that everyone enjoyed themselves and know the effort put in and would agree Michael and hs hall of fame to be a nice recipient xx

Well Johnny and i always like Michael, so what ever it is you are talking about ofcourse i would like for Michael to know, that the browser family is standing right there behind him.

ok i have scanned the acknowledgemtn letters - and made them into Jpegs I have covered up my name adn adress as dont want the whole world knowing where i live hehe -
I will message Michael and ask him if its ok to add a comment on the Comp Wall about the scarf etc and money raised and add the pics as the acknowledgments - havent mentioned yet about the scarf going to him thought it may be nice to mention that on the comp wall when explaining the winner didnt come forwards - what do you think ?

I think Val you should send what you have, we aint gonna get a picture with everyone in it cos it would be too big hehe - i think just send what you can that looks nice from the browser point of view, the comp point of view and Elvis point of view - maybe send them a couple one of the browser table one of maybe something elvisy I wouldnt say send any of the etas cos there are so many etas would not be right to pick one - but maybe a piccie of little Nicholas would be nice? only if oked with jules though cos after all Nich is a minor but does represent and highlight the fact that the younger generation love their elvis too - whatever ya think though Val im sure you pick good pics -


Essie, the scarf thin is that at Birmingham Petes wife Sue made a huge scarf and all the etas tributes, bands etc signed it - during the weekend where we could we went and sold raffle tickets to win the scarf - we raised almost £410 which was very good considering how we was rushing around when we could in intervals and we have sent half to mens matetrs and half to stroke support - problem is when the raffle was drawn at the end of the night no one came forward with the winning ticket and have not since, it was late and people may have just ehaded off to bed but we have no chance really of tracking the winner down because time didnt allow for us to have everyone write their contact details on back of raffles eitehr so we have a beautiful scarf unclaimed - thought of maybe auctioning it to raise some more money, but that may be seen as bad taste by some and it may look like we cheating some how to get more money - we raffled cos that wasa fair way and you didnt have to be rich to get the scarf everyone had a chance with the ticket. or thought we could give it to someone deserving you know like someone who is very sick etc, but then how would you choose from the people who was unwell - thought that seeing as how the event meant a lot to michael he would be a good recipient and a nice reminder for him, like i said earlier when i asked about the scarf he said he had it and mentioned the hall of fame I think he was just joking but i think its a nice idea and that most everyone would agree to this as its clear all the work he put in to bring the standard of the venue and everything up and listened to peoples thoughts on things etc.. everyone had a great time, apart from a few disappoints cost wise for things i think had a great time I know we did xxx

I have already got permission from Jules for a picture of Nicholas which he has sent me. Will have a look at my piccys.

well Essie everyone was involved - Pete had the idea Sue made the scarf - the comp let us sele the tickets and also really kept plugging it - everyone was helping with the tickets even the children the guys who signed it all it was a massive joint effort and am so pleased we got a nice amount and that it will help people and also i am pleaed it will put elvis name in good light too

That is just WONDERFULL!!! You wont believe how proud i am at you guys!!!!!!!

What pictures do you have maybe post them for us all to view ?

i wasnt in any pics cos im camera shy hehe x i am happy with whatever i sent one of the main browser table would be nice and hatever you guys think is all ok by me -
