Just to let you know, I have been approached by a member of staff in work who unfortunatley her friends husband died a few weeks ago and she is giving me the sets which you collected every week (this is what I am lead to believe they are). I think they are about 98% complete, I have decided that we can auction them at Carmels Legends night to raise money.

I will collect them this week and see what condition etc they are in. Just wondering if they are brilliant condition do you think we will have enough people to raise a lot for theses as altogether they would be expensive to have bought (think starting price would be at least £50). We could also either auction them on here instead for the same event but I would like to also offer something from these to the Stroke association as I believe this is what the gentleman died off.

What do you guys think?

yes very lovely thought from that lady Val, and cant see a problem with giving some to stroke support... if yuo are concerned they may not fetch what they are worth or thereabouts could maybe put a reserve on them>?? ebay maybe?? but.. you have the problem with P&P they probably quite heavy so for someone to take them away will save them money kinda thing ... wondering if maybe get a bit for them broken down, though ncie to keep them as they intended to be - how many people I wonder started colelcting and missed out on one or two, whatever happens was a lovely gesture from that lady xx

Cant believe it. Went in work today and there was a hugh box near my desk. It had all the folders etc of the collection. It also has loads of DVD's, all I can say is WOW. Going to collect it from work tomorrow, have to take Mike with me as I cant lift it and then sort it all out.

Was given a great idea for the auction of the magazine things. It is called a silent auction, people put how much they want to offer (with there name) on a flip chart paper. Every so oftern we could shout out what the auction amount it is upto. That way we dont cut into any proceedings as people can do it themselves as the night goes on. We can finish the auction at a certain time, say 10.00.

What do you think?

that sounds like a great idea Val - with auctions they do take time to rouse people up into bidding so that cuts away from your entertainment time, may suggest this iidea as well at the charity show chris has got coming up later in the year Smile

For your more expensive things or unusual things you get donated you would probably make more this way into the pot than using them as a raffle if that make sense, becase people will buy some raffle tickets regardless i think..

Paul, you should ge a box sometime tomorrow I scooped up sme stuff thats not very exciting but things that was here like unwanted gifts and stuff that i couldnt part with lol cos was gifts butttt that its cool to give to charity events and some things I got in sales, cos honest no one bought me a bratz thing.. I am not into Bratz hehe xx
