Many thanks for your very kind comments - it was good to be crowned 'King of the Southern Softies!' (that's for your benefit Paul B!)
Best comment of the day to me was from another ETA (no names - no pack drill) who, after the result came up to me and said "Well done Neil, you're an inspiration to me, seeing you up there makes me realise I've probably got another 25 years left in me as an ETA!!!" Talk about a compliment with a sting in it! He meant well - I think.
The prize is a 30 gig Elvis Show Tour - we will wait and see on that one!
Paul - unfortunately Lisa Marie was not present - apparantly they could not find a suitable place to land her helicopter!!! I kept asking the organiser where she was - but it was like mentioning Macbeth to a trained actor!
All that said it was a good first time contest to a packed club all of whom were very respectful to the performers. It was also good to meet up with some old friends in the ETA world and to meet some new ones. It's comforting to know that there's plenty of good ETA's out there working week in week out and representing Elvis and his music in a very professional, entertaining and accurate way.
Perhaps we should have a North v South Battle next - now there's food for thought!!!

Thank you kindly Paul - once the judges had got used to the false teeth, SAGA jumpsuit and zimmer frame they obviously enjoyed my set!
I won't be going to Blackpool this year, I made that decision the moment I didn't make the final cut last time around.
Family are very well, thanks and I hope yours are the same.
Doing quite a bit of Deano as well as Elvis nowadays - just formed a partnership with Anthony Adams (you may remember him from the BBC Show 'The One and Only' - he came second in that as Frank Sinatra). Well we've come up with a Frank and Dean Show for next year - as you know in this game you need more than one string to yer bow!
Perhaps we should arrange an over 45's v's uunder 45's ETA Contest - the mind boggles!
