Contest/Convention Blackpool 2010

Well we are just over a week away from the the next convention which looks to be the biggest yet 100 ETA's taking part WOW !!

As ever can we ask you who are taking part to please check your Backing track discs, Myself and DJ Ste ( now promoted to Chief Music and Playback engineer ) can only keep saying that Mini Disc is still the preferred media, we have never had any playback problems with Mini Discs ( please do noe bring or record Mini Disc's in Long Play if possible )

if you are using CD please make it an original disc or a simple CDR not a rewrite etc, and please avoid long gaps at the start of your tracks especially if you record them from Karaoke discs.

If you are in the Gospel Contest make sure you have a Gospel track with you.

Please label all discs clearly with your name so you can collect them back again.

The Convention takes place in 2 rooms this year as we are also using the adjoining Ballroom, in the Ballroom will be most of the merchandising shops ( B&K Enterprises and Gene Douchette are expected to be here along with Ed Bonja and his photographs.
This room in the afternoons will be available as Studio E for your own performances as well as Showcases from invited ETA's.
The main showroom will host the contest Heats and the Evening Showcases.

Other changes this year will be the voting system and you will be able to vote yourselves. and Sunday is being filmed and shown live on the Internet.

just out of curiosity how is the audiance voting done.. is it by pen & paper or some sort of computer/electronic voting pad

There are pre printed voting slips 1 per person for you to put a name on, this is for the Semi Final and the Final.

Well you guys in England that bring a lot of family and friends are lucky then.
Garry J Foley, just ENJOY!! Have a chat with other ETA's! Yaw have a lot in commen, so who knows you may make some live time friendship?
And it is just nice to be there. Dont be nervouse about it, just do what you always do at a show.

Good luck to each and every one of those ETA's taking part. I'll be in Memphis, so I'll miss this, but I will log on and cast my vote. I hope you all have a blast and the event is a fantastic, enjoyable success. Family, friends and Elvis fans attending...give the guys your support and do Elvis proud. I hope to make it to Blackpool in 2011, can't wait!!!

Does anyone know the timings for Blackpool, eg, dinner as I dont want to be sat halfway through my dinner and start missing everything. I know the heats start about 7.30, this will help in my drinking time .

if i remember from last year the evening meals started around the 5 pm time you book your meal times at reception, hope this help's Val look forward to seeing you there .

that is absolutly spot on me mucca,, but you have to book each days meal in the morning so the time slots are on a first come first served basis

how did you know thats what everyone usually does at the jamming sessions around 2 in the morning

so i was thinkin, for all you guys & gals that are goin next week is there anyone that wants to get a browser table ( or should i say several table's ) going like last year, where we had a right blast infact if memory serves me correctly i think we monopolised a good quarter of the main bar area anyways me an john devil will be setting up camp at approx 12 noon on the friday just around the bar area so dont be afraid to come on over an join us for what i hope to be another very memorable year at the norbreck

I think John put it on twice as he needs a seperate table for the beers . I second that, probably get there for about 1.00, might be earlier depending what time we get up
