Well Guys and Girls only a few days to go till Blackpool, but all credit to Che Orton who has already arrived yesterday at the Norbreck for the Contest, and he will put all our journeys there to shame, as Che has travelled from New Zealand to take part, which was a flight to Australia then a flight to Dubai and then to the UK, ( Ithink he started out sometime over New Year )

He probably will sleep till Friday and then go and buy some warm clothes ! but I am sure we will all make him welcome when we meet him.

My above Post got me thinking as to who here in the UK would make the same journey to enter a contest in New Zealand ? only for Elvis would you do it !!

I'm sure he will be made to feel welcome. As for travelling across the globe to compete in a contest, it would really come down to finances. If I could afford it, then maybe, but it's a long way to come unless your promotional effort goes into overdrive. Looked at his website and I think he looks and sounds very good, I wish him and everyone else all the best and I'll be logging on from Memphis to cast my vote.

However according to the latest reviews on this, there is a serious heealth warning for those staying in the hotel! Think there was a simaler issue last year

And i hope that the heathers are on...

I have stayed there and thought it was a bit scummy. Then again most of Blackpool needs knocking down and rebuilding. It looks ok at night !!

I now try and avoid the place like the plague, oops wrong choice of words.

It always makes me wonder why Elvis fans put up with rubbish accommodation at events. Take a look at The Heartbreak Hotel in Memphis, it's naff, filthy and falling apart. The holidays at Hemsby and Mablethorpe, old fashioned worn out tat. The fans do put up with it though and promoters know that there love for Elvis will keep them quiet and keep them paying.

Just stay drunk and wear rose coloured spectacles.

i have just contacted the hotel and it is closed for complete clean through out the hotel and will not re open until thursday they have informed me that unless the virus is carried back into the hotel by one of the guest's arriving on thursday then everyone will be ok

I wonder what Che (the ETA from New Zeeland) will do now that it's closed? Poor guy...
I am glad i dint order any dinner at the hotel, dint like it in '08 (tasted like water) so we eat somewhere else.
